Wildlife Park

Enjoy the amazing animals at this beautiful park, in the leafy New Forest, with its fabulous adventure playgrounds. Follow the woodland trails to see wallaby, European bison, wolves, wild boar, Scottish wildcats, lynx, foxes, pine marten, polecats, owls and ferrets. Meet the friendly deer and say hi to the playful otters, including the endangered giant otter. Feeding sessions, keeper talks and special events year round. Amazing playgrounds for under 6's and from 6yrs to 86yrs!!!


Long Down Activity Farm

There's farmyard fun for the whole family at Longdown Activity Farm. Join in with a daily schedule of hands-on activities such as bottle-feeding kid goats and calves, duck feeding, and the Animal Encounter Barn where visitors can hold chicks and meet a variety of small animals - sometimes even Kunekune piglets. There are lots of larger, friendly animals to meet too. Whatever the weather, there is lots of playtime adventures to be had in the indoor and outdoor play areas which include the Straw Den and Trampoline Barn and the soft play area.


Go Ape

This 440 acres of beautiful water meadows, woodland and meadows are situated beside the River Itchen and has been recognised by the award of a Green Flag for the past four years.

As Southampton’s hub for outdoor activities there’s a lot to keep the family entertained and busy. With two play areas to choose from, linked by the Play Trail which is made up of a series of animal sculptures for children to play on the whole family are sure to have a great time.

Swing on by to Monkey Haven and visit the Island's award-winning primate rescue centre that makes animals happy - and people happy. You’ll meet all kinds of wonderful animals, including the singing Lar gibbons, cheeky meerkats and the most beautiful birds of prey. You'll learn all about the fascinating creatures, their personalities, and how they came to be at the Haven.

Experience traditional boatbuilding techniques at Boathouse 4 or learn the history of Royal Navy armaments at Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower. Step aboard HMS Warrior, the pride of Queen Victoria’s fleet.

Enjoy a great family day out at Manor Farm meeting friendly farm animals as you stroll around our traditional farmyard. There is always something new to see with baby animals and all our usual farmyard favourites. Take part in our daily meet the animals activity, explore the farmhouse and farm buildings, take part in a Victorian school lesson. Once you’ve met all our animals why not visit our indoor play barn, with climbing frames and soft play area or if the weather is fine use our outside play area.

Steam Railway

Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway is a popular attraction near to Southampton, perfect for a day out with the kids. Our steam trains run from the main station at Eastleigh Parkway, with the entire trip totalling 15-20 minutes.

We believe we have the largest collection of Miniature locomotives on a commercial railway, with a total of 24 in the collection; 21 being steam powered and most of them are in steam on gala days.

As soon as you think of the Isle of Wight the iconic image of the world famous chairlift taking you to see the needles rocks and coloured sands spring to mind.  The Islands most famous landmark attraction has so much more to enjoy than the stunning views, it is a destination not to be missed.

The range of attractions includes the spectacular chairlift ride, taking you on a journey past the coloured sands cliffs to the beach. Soak up the breathtaking views from the beach and enjoy a paddle in the sea. Or get closer to the Needles by taking a pleasure cruise.

This is where you can see a fantastic fulldome film show or an out-of-this-world live show. Watch fun characters head off on exciting adventures in a subtitled film show. Woosh! Or in a live show, you can listen to our space hero Inspirers telling amazing stories about the Solar System. Whatever you pick, you'll find out fantastic space facts. Ancient Farm

Butser Ancient Farm is a unique experimental archaeology site nestled into the rolling countryside of the South Downs National Park; we welcome visitors and education groups to the site throughout the year.

The Farm features archaeological reconstructions of ancient buildings from the Stone Age, Iron Age, Roman Britain and the Anglo-Saxon period. Our buildings are internationally famous and appear frequently in documentaries and feature films.

Butser Ancient Farm has recently launched Butser Plus, watch behind the scenes at the farm as we explore and investigate how things may have been done in the ancient past.

The Brickworks Museum

Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum is all set to become one of the key visitor attractions in the South. The only remaining steam driven brickworks in the country we show how brick making made the leap from small scale production to 20 million bricks a year. The fully restored and working machinery helped us to win the coveted Institute of Mechanical Engineering Heritage Award in 2011 and on Open Days we can show it all running as it was when it ceased producing bricks. On site you can see the patented method adopted to dry the bricks and the huge kiln block that was used to fire them ready for collection.


Beaulieu Motor Museum

In the heart of the glorious New Forest, Beaulieu is one of the South's top visitor attractions. Here you will find the National Motor Museum, home to over 250 vehicles telling the history of motoring. You can also visit Palace House and Gardens, home of the Montagu family since 1538, the remains of Beaulieu Abbey and World of Top Gear where you can see some of the vehicles from Jeremy, James and Richard's most ambitious challenges. Ride on the high level Monorail or climb aboard the replica 1912 open top London bus for a fun way to see Beaulieu's sights.


Alpine Snowsports

The Alpine Snowsports Centre in Southampton is a great venue for new and experienced snowsports fans. Its artificial surface is ideal for Skiing, Snowboarding and a bit of fun with Donutting (or ringo’s and tubing as some people call them). It’s a guaranteed fun day out!

We’ve got a really enthusiastic and passionate instructor team who can help you get started if you’ve never been on the slopes before, or push your practice skills on a little bit further if you’re looking for a helping hand to improve. Whatever your ski or snowboard experience level, we’d love you to come and get involved.

Winchester Mill

A rare surviving example of an urban working corn mill and the gateway to the South Downs National Park.

Winchester City Mill has stood at the heart of Winchester since at least Saxon times. With a history of over 1000 years, Winchester City Mill is probably the oldest working watermill in the UK.

With hands-on activities and audio-visual displays about milling and the rich wildlife in the area, as well as regular flour milling and baking demonstrations, the City Mill is a lively and informative place for all ages.
